BoltGauge

Three vendors.
One gauge.

See what Claude, Codex and Grok use on your PC, what it would cost at API prices, and when your plan's window fills at your pace.

Sends counts, not your prompts or codeFree foreverNo card

A picture of the gauge for one machine, with example numbers: the Claude and Codex limit dials, Grok's tokens and what they would cost at API prices, a week of usage by provider, and when the window fills at this pace.

What the agent never sends

The agent reads the transcripts your coding tools already keep on your PC, takes the counts, and leaves the words.

A picture: five lines carrying what you typed, what the model answered, your code, your files and your sign-in run into the gauge on your PC; only small points of light, the counts and labels, leave toward your dashboard.

It never sends your words, your code, or your files.

  • Not what you typed, not what the model answered, and not the contents of any file.
  • To read your plan's limits it uses your Claude sign-in with Anthropic directly. That sign-in never reaches BoltGauge and is never written to a log.
  • To read your Codex plan's limits it asks the Codex program on your machine, which talks to OpenAI with its own sign-in; the agent never reads that sign-in.
  • To tell your Claude sign-ins apart it reads one value from ~/.claude.json, your account id, and scrambles it; for Codex it scrambles the account id Codex reports.
  • Your email address and display name stay on your machine.

It sends counts and labels. The full list of what it sends is on the download page and in the privacy policy.

How it works

One file for Windows. Three steps, and the gauge is live.

  1. 1

    Download the agent.

One signed agent for Windows. When you open it, a window shows everything the agent does and waits for you to type yes.

  2. 2

Your browser opens so you can approve the machine. Sign in with your email; if you have no account yet, signing in makes one.

  3. 3

    Watch your usage.

From then on the agent starts when you log on and runs in the background. Sign in at any time to see your dashboard.

Free, and what Cloud adds

The free gauge is the agent on one PC, showing everything that machine can see. BoltGauge Cloud joins every machine you use on one dashboard.

The free gauge

Free forever. No card.

The agent on one PC, showing everything that machine can see, live:

  • Token usage, and what it would have cost at API prices, by model and by project.
  • Your Claude and Codex plan limits as dials, read with your own sign-ins, with a dial for each sign-in on the machine.
  • Grok token and cost tracking, from the Grok CLI's session files.
  • Cap prediction for Claude and Codex: when today's window will fill up at your pace.

The free gauge covers one machine and shows up to 30 days of history.

BoltGauge Cloud

Every machine. One dashboard.

The paid edition adds what one machine cannot give you:

  • Every machine you use, on one dashboard.
  • 24 months of history.
  • Your usage by machine and by project, across all your machines.

Alerts that reach you away from your machine are an upcoming feature, with no date and no promise.
